where is marsh park - Fairfield? I am also looking for a place to catch native channel cats - not the farm raised cats stocked in paylakes. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I want to take my daughter fishing. Thanks!

big cats are only stocked 2 a year....unfortunately, since it is a public park, some fishermen keep the big cats that they catch so it becomes a "put-and-take" fishery.......channels are stocked bi-weekly starting about end of April.....I am a "VIP" (Volunteer-In-Park) for Mason Parks and a member of the staff that patrols the lake and checks people for the proper paid fishing pass.....please get the pass!!!...important note- the money from the paid passes pays for the fish---no paid passes..-no fish....great place to bring the kids!!!....no night fishing except once per month -it is either the first or second saturday of the month--one night only each month during the summer-I'll let you know for upcoming 2008...hope this helps.
