you know what guys.....not to start an argument or anything...and Im not looking for negative feedback here, but in all do respect...yea the guy was dumb for killing quite a great representation of the species....Catfish Conservation is all I have to say!!!! but to the point, has anyone ever eaten a flathead??? if you havent, then maybe you should try cookin' up a small one and see for yourself....possibly one of the best table fare fish around....you think it would be oily and tough, but the size of a flathead makes no difference to how it tastes, and IMO flathead is the best eatting catfish, not oily at all.....
but on the other hand, yes this guy is an R-Tard.... if you wanted something for eating, practice trophy catfish management and keep only the little guys for the fryer

i have to say shovelhead is the best fish you can eat,the belly meat is the best part. i was at santee cooper last april took charter we caught about 50 blues under 15lbs we keep about 10 to eat and bring home. we caught 5 blues over 30lbs the bigest was 36lb but my buddy caught a 30lb shovel we took a picture and was about to put it back when the guide told we where crazy he said shovel's where the best you could eat. my buddy and i had never tried it before so we keep and he was right it is the best i thought a 30lber would be tough but it wasn't. the only thing was it about killed us to clean it. we normally only keep fish ounder 10lb and throw the others back. we are going back this coming may.

He must have been super hungry to eat a fish that big...I'm sure it was disgusting...and really he had plenty of time to reconsider how much of an idiot he is cause it probably took a long time to prepare that fish...

I thought with fish that big the meat would be nasty and hard and just not worth eating? Or is the meat ok to eat and better cause there's more of it? I'm just goin by what people have told me though I ain't never ate a big fish before I really don't even like fish...

i don't really see the big deal that the guy ate the fish even though it could have been a state record. if the new state record whitetail walks under my tree stand, you can bet that i'm sending an arrow his way with every intention of eating him, not let him walk to see if he gets bigger next year. maybe it didn't matter to this guy if he held a record or not. records don't matter to me much. back in '05 i killed a black bear in west virginia that is very likely the biggest ever killed in the state by a hunter, but i don't care, i have him fully mounted in the living room and he made a nice trophy none the less.

I'LL SAY THIS THERES NOTHIN WRONG WITH EATING WAT YOU HUNT OR CATCH BUT THERES A DIFFERENCE I THINK BETWEEN BEARS AND CATFISH. BUT YOU STILL WENT And got it weighed right? if not your a dumb a** but anyways catfish that big are tough and donty taste as good as smaller fish. right or wrong? i would take it to get weighed first and would never eat it ever just 1-10 lbers. plus you cant compare a bear to a fish you have to kill a bear to find out the weight and if you didnt your stupid for real!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
