I wanted to start a thread for 'testimonials'. I will begin with why I started the site:
I have been a fisherman for all of my life and became a catfisherman as I grew and developed patience. A lot of my catfishing has been done at paylakes as well as state lakes and rivers. After browsing the internet for more catfish information and tips, I came across several catfish sites and, most notably, message boards. On these sites, I soon found myself looked downed upon and shunned for being a 'paylaker'. Desiring a new home, I created cincypaylakes.com. I created this place to give paylakers a place to speak freely about catfishing.
***Edit - Please don't post anything like this: I came here because www. abcdefg .com sucks. I'd like to remain respectful to any other sites. Thanks - Cincy***

i also have seen negatative comments about paylakes on the internet. paylakes provide an opportunity to catch big fish, for some folks a place to fish, commeraderie with fellow fisherman, chance to enjoy fishing & get outdoors, place to take the family that is fun & safe, no boat needed, etc.,etc. unfortunately there are the ingorant few that don't understand this. thank you cincypaylakes.

Its not that people dont like paylakes its just that they steal the fish from and outside place like abig river...so then people there dont have fish...so dont call them ignorant...i mean i fish them when rivers are high and stuff but look at it this way...most people dont like high fenced hunting grounds becasue "SOME" take wild deer and pen them up...thants why ppl dont like paylakes...thats why if i fish them i see were they got there fish from...for instance Springwater great lake there fish even spawn there they dont over stock its a great paylake.....so dont call people ignorant bc they dont like paylakes i think they have a right not to like the ones that take fish from my fishing grounds to make money..... this is a great site and can learn alot....but on fourms like boc and them kind thats why they look down on them.

catfishchad has a good point. But the way i look at it is catfishing is catfishing no mater where its at. Don't care if it is at a lake, pond or river i just have my on preferences. Use to only fish for fun but after my uncle got me hooked on paylakes i changed.
When it comes to stealing fish its not really stealing people take fish all the time to eat. Yeah it may only be a 4 lber but after a few years it could be a 60 lber. So more power to both river fishers and paylakers, keep catfishing. Don't forget everyone has their own way of thinking about things.

i agree with aslept until the stealing part....yea ppl keep fish from rivers but they are not commercial fisherman that net 1000's of pounds of catfish from the ohio river...and sell them to paylakes...but that is just my opinon...everybody is entitled to there own.

i like it here..i never get anyfish out of paylakes and was thinking it was ripoff to pay to fish..in a mudhole that someone wanted to call a paylake.but I see i didnt know how to fish in a paylake.its alot like fishing salt water put on a pinfish{bluegill}and put it out there.lots of poaple use pinfish for bait even on partyboats.they get bigger fish then if you use the free sqid the partyboat supples.keep in mind they have airretedcoolers and get the front of the boat.they are lay-z and use 12volt reels dont even wind in the fish the reel dos it.so if you ever get to go deepsea fishing,no slidefoalt and a 6-8 foot pole and some pinfish.use your catfish reel and you could get reds and grouper.doing almost the same think you doing at a paylake...the lay-z fisherman sold there fish at the dock and would make money not a lot but would pay for the partyboat and all the beer they wanted.they didnt drink alot i didnt see any of them fall into the water like i did at the paylake 1 time.THX FOR HELPING ME

CincyPayLakes.com is a great place to learn about tournaments and all sorts of things going on a all sorts of paylakes. Full of information that I love to check out just about every other day, so please keep the info coming. Hoping one day will will a few free tickets somewhere since gas prices have restricted the fishing season trips for me. Not many great pay lakes around the west side of town in Cincy!!!
