I know that shad are just about the best bait for blues but it seems like i can't catch a fish when using shad. so i chose night crawlers. But i still give shad the chance because i know what they can produce.

Ive caught blues on live and dead shad warmouths smallmouth bass and curled chubs.and ive seen alot of big blues.

BEST BAIT HANDS DOWN FOR BLUES IS FRESH SHAD...FRESH CUT OR LIVE AS LONG AS ITS FRESH IVE DONE THE BEST ON SHAD.

MACKEREL IS VERY GOOD FRESH YOU CAN GET IT AT JUNGLE JIMS ON ROUTE 4 IN FAIRFEILD. I AGREE THAT SHAD IS THE BEST BAIT THOUGH TIP WITH A LEECH. ALSO DONT FORGET STAWBERRY CHICKEN...
