I was cast netting bait in the ohio when I pulled out a 4 inch yellow perch. Put him in my livewell and he lasted about 8 mins on my hook at the lake. Caught a nice 28lb flathead off him. I have never cast netted another since. But I have found yellow perch for sale at local fish farms. They are pricey. But well worth it! The only bad thing is they DO NOT! tolerate warm water. So keep plenty of ice in your live well and fish deep with them.
