I am going to be fishing some lakes in the area this weekend and was wondering if there is any good places to buy live baits. We plan on catching what we can but are still having a hard time getting good creek chubs. I read on another post about Hamilton wholesale bait is this on the way to Paradise II. If so what other types of live baits might they have this time of year. As always any info will be greatly appreciated.

Don't know of any places to buy live bait for sure. But i did hear that there is a bait shop in fairfield off of route 4. The only place i know of closed down . If you do find a bait shop they should have the basics like gold fish, minnows, and maybe creek chuds??? not sure.

Looked in the phone book and found one off of route 127 in Hamilton. They have a web site so check it out. www.wholesalebait.com

Wholesale is a good place, I have been going there for a few years now. A little on the pricey side, but the sell more for wholesale not the walkups. Still they have variety.

wholesale is a good place to buy bait but your right their more wholesale , walk ins can get good bait but it cost, their gear is good pricing , and its the only place i buy my bait for the shop. problem factor is , that they have no say in the size or amount of bait or timing of getting it in , and neither do we. so we are limited sometimes as to what a shop can carry , its not that we can get it and just do not buy it , its that the sizes or quanilty is not there that week, or out of season. like this week; goldfish are nice size meduims in our opinion, some shopd may call them large but we do not , guys like how we size our bait here. But if we tell you only smalls or only large its the fault of the hatchery and what they shipped not us or wholesale just trying to push bait size. We have had guys leave the shop doubting us as to the limited choice only to come back and get the dredge of the tank then missing out because they thought bigger bait was out there to buy. so trust the shop you buy they have no reason to steer you wrong.

Afield is a good place, I like that he has guns and bows on top of the fishing gear. I don't know how far this is out of your way but their is a new place in Harrison, I forget the name but it is behind the Wendy's. Nice guy that owns it, a younger guy.
Actually this is a good topic to start a side forum in so people can put the town as the topic and put bait shops around that area in that thread. Address, number, etc. Just a thought.

I go down glen-way and down Harrison. I live over by Delhi but we are in the middle of moving to Indiana.
Yea, I'm going to be in the market for a new gun in the next couple months and he will be my first stop to see what he has. I know they will work with you...
I have never bought fishing gear off of him though I know he has a nice selection. I get some hunting gear from him though. My last bow I got from him.
