Last time i checkes they were 2.50 a pop down at jones fish hatchery I get the special price If you come all the way down here though for bait you should go to the LMR where you can catch nice bait size channels and yellows all day long right here outside of newtown behind the tavern on round bottom

some advice on cathcing them would be great. I have used them before with good results. I have caught them at stonlelick before with meal worms on a dead line but it was mostly by accident. I have also caught huge ones in my cast net off the dock. Any advice on where and how at Stonelick and in the LMR would be great.
Peace Elijah

not sure if anyone knows it or not but a bullhead (yellow belly) is a scav.. fish that is why they are good for but they will eat just about anything. When the shovels are on the nest they tear them up because they think that they are going to raid there nest and same as the blues.. caught a bunch of both fish on them at C.P.1 me and a friend of mine went there and caught 37 fish on bellies.

Do you have to clip off the fins before fishing with them?

You don't have to, I don't think it really effects the fish. It's all preference. If you prefer to not get stabbed with their fins, then clip them.
I caught a 38 and 28 shovel Monday on them without being clipped.
