every time i try and use a yellow belly for bait when I cast it it gets off, I've baited them through the head the belly and the back.

I hook them right behind their last fin on their back.

I've never had a problem hooking a yellow under the jaw and out through its nose. But the one time I tried to hook him in his back i saw him fly away

just hook them through the "tail" right after their last dorsal fin.... just make sure your hook matches the size of your bait...that could be the problem, you're over loading your hook
