when i use them i just cut them into a few pcs. heads body into like 3-5 pcs. (depends on the size.) and then just get rid on the tail part.. but you can cun them into smaller pcs. i like to use big bait myself. When i can anyway. but i have cut them into like 2inch by 2inch pcs. and just put 2 or 3 pcs on a hook. that works like that as well. Hope this helps..

yeah you can use the body. i like the head better, i just use the whole head, its big sometimes but i've caught my biggest fish off of trout. at one point that was about the only thing i used, but seems like the lake i always fished, the blues started to shy away from it. but still my favorite bait. i still go up to jungle jims and by them in the months after lakes quit stocking them. they sell them live

i use the whole head to, i cut the body into pcs. if its to big, then cut it into smaller pcs. (body) i cut the body into about 2x2 inch pcs, and use a couple pcs on my hook. ( for big fish)I cut them that way, so when i fish for channel cats i can use the pcs. as well.
