I would agree they do hold up and man they can be thrown a mile, The only thing I don't like is the clicker isnt as loud as the bait runners.

My Favorite Reel:
I used to use Abu reels and the I picked up my Shimano Calcutta 400. I do like the clicker location better on the Abu's but the Calcutta is so much smoother. I have fished both in Saltwater and Freshwater and the Shimano is the reel for me.

my favorite reel now is the 6500 pro rocket i can out cast my c3's with less effort the c3 pulls in line faster but as far as getting my bait where i want it nothing beats the rocket

agreed i have 2 abu rocket 6500cs and 2 c4 blue 6500. i love my rockets my c4s can almost compete. but not quite. there all good reels. i still have a 5000 baitcasting reel about 40 years old abu garcia last forever you could throw it in a lake for a year. pull it out take it apart clean it and oil it and it will be as good as new. also my reals are on 4 catmax rods. dontforget the cigar slip floats by thill.

the rockets are the sh*t!! i know a couple people who bought the walmart one (the orange 6600cl) and thought it was a rocket. abu makes cheaper versions of reels so walmart can sell them cheaper same with a walmart 6000 it'll get the job done when youre first starting but they er like 60 bucks with 1 ball bearing and for $20 more u can get a 6500c3 or c4 idont like the c4 because of the thumb bar release - horseshoe sells them with the push button though if anybody wants a c4 with the button instead of the thumb bar sue and larry has them there

Got a few Sham.. Cors.. and i wouldn't take anything for them, they cast just as good as the 6500 C's. i got a older 6500 and a C3 and the Samo. are right there with the 6500's.. they got the retrieve same as 6500 and i think the drags are a little smoother to..

walmart version=@$80 pro rocket $129 once its adjusted right you can out cast the c3 or c4 Iv got the C3s and i don't think it matters with the real that much. I think it is the person casting it. I would like to have a casting contest with someone with a rocket.

If you want to do a contest I'm in ;D but we need to make sure we have the same float, line, pole, weight and so on...........is it really worth all that ?

That is all i wanted to hear there Randy. I was waiting for someone to say that. So if you want to cast far it isn't just the reel it takes more than that like the line size, the float and most defiantly the type of pole you have.
Still would like a contest to take place. ;D
