ok -tighten up the left side then open the dial on the right and u should see the spool start to move. when u get to where your line drops but not falls to the ground slowly start opening the left side. theres are numbers on the dial but i dont pay any attention to them. the whole goal is to get even distance on the spool meaning u should see the same amount of gold(the spool) on each side next to silver. if u undo but sides u can wiggle the spool side to side u want equal distance without being able to wiggle it. then u play with it from there. once it is set right u can open the bail and wont need to turn the clicker on (during the day) to keep your line from unraveling. i think it has a harder clicker to pull than a c3 but its distinct and u know when its that pole though. i sent u my number any questions just call ill be fishin all night tomorrow and my cell will be on

Abu Garcia only makes a couple of reels that have magnetic brake controls on them. They are the Mag Elite, Mag, and Sports Mag. These reels are the casting reels that Abu makes. I am having a Abu Garcia 6500CS Mag Elite Custom Built for me. I will post this reel in another post! i looked at these reels and at $129-159 each i could see how much better they work then a 6000.i want 1 or 2 but i found some 7000b reels on ebay for $69.99 each on ebay.looked almost the same so i got 2 of then. cast the same as my 6000 around 175 feet with 2 oz lead, float and hook.12 foot rod the 7000b are made in TAIWAN made me cry. like getting a ford and it said made in china.
how far can you-anyone-all cast your hook and what 2ozwt???
saw on net someone in the USA cast a 2oz wt 645 feet with a hoped up 6500 prorocket and a 13 foot rod with 14# test power pro line the reel had almost no line feft on it.just think 200yards

i have a couple 7000 and i took the booshings out and replaced them with ceramic berrings and i have not a problem cast them. Haven't been know where as of yet that i cant cast across the lake. Monroe, e.z. Triangle's big lake, Rainbows biggest lake, ect. You can get the ceramic berrings on e-bay for like $60, i think i got 12 of them, even replaced the one in my 6500c3, it made some diff. but not much in the 6500..

I can tell you alot about Ceramic Bearings. There are different grades and you want them dry not packed full of grease. Ceramic bearings are louder than steel but do cast farther. You want one side unshielded and one side shielded. They work better in CT models because the levelwind will not keep up with the speed without modification. I have them here and you can do things with Abu Garcia reels that is awesome. ceramic barrings cant find them on ebay.any1 know more about them
