whats the best setup for your pole and best way to be sucsessfull at trolling?

Setup really doesn't matter. I like my 11 foot sea line x rod or my emcast because they are real light. The best way to troll is try to keep your bait no more than a foot from the bottom. I try to stay about six inches if i can. when you start trolling never take you eye off the float because they can take it down and spit it and you might not even know it. Hope this helps.

that does help so id just use the regular old setup just make sure its close to the bottom and pay darn good attention?

i use a cabelas preditor 11ft rod with a tica caiman cm reel.they are lighter than the sealine or emcast.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER RODS LIKE IT THAT I SHOULD THINK ABOUT? HOW LONG OF ONE DID YOU GUYS BUY OR NO REAL PRICE DIFFRENCE?

Don't know of any other rods like it that are under $100. I think if you drop down to an 10 foot emcast the price drops like $10.
