The berkley glow sticks are made from eglass which i was told that eglass is extremly strong. i have two 10 foot glow sticks with 6600 reels. i have havent had any problems with mine. 40 pounders are the biggest i caught with them and i diddnt have any problem with the poles. the best thing is when you night fish you have no problem with people or yourself tripping walking or breaking stuff since they look like a light saber and you cant miss them if they are in holders or on the ground. they use 3 aaa batteries and they last for a few trips. i love mine and for the price its not a bad deal for a 10 foot pole. when i got mine i bought 1 to test it out and loved it so i got another. i got mine at bps for around 40 bucks.. hope this is helpful. also when i set the hook a give it my best and never had any problems.
