8-)the planer bobber was put through its paces with two 7 inch shad live with a small weight to keep the shad down. -- well it worked good with live bait x two in stead of cut bait. I hoped we would get bigger fish with the live bait. it was windy 20 knots or more with white caps and bright sunny too. I used a drift sock and my trolling motor to run allong the cliff walls at alum creek reservoir. our planers were able to run up neer and even bump the steep cliff wall. and our boat stayed far away from the wall not scaring the big catfish away from there feeding station on the ledges and walls . it was awesome we caught some nice catfish --they would slam our planner bobbers hooking themselfs in the lip every time we did not lose one fish as they were hooked the second they grabbed the bait. our were set in holders with the drag set pretty hard. we waited till they pulled the rods way down and fought to pull them out of the holders. fellow catfisherman you got to try controled drifting and trolling for catfish if you want to see our catch and our planer bobbers as well as a page on easy way to build a castable side planing bobber.even if you have seen my page before look again we fixed it up and improved the planer check our site click here to see them www.bitosense.com -- the catkiller
