as far as you say =ing it must not be to shallow, it dont take much for a shallower lake to warm up fast, i have fished that lake for 20 yrs and have seen it go from av. of 10-14 ft, down to 4 to 5. ive fished for anything from cats to burbott to trout and it is very shallow the deepest stop in the lake is off the dam. Like i said im not trying at all to get anythng started but been fishing there for yrs. and it is. If you get a chance to, walk out into to off of the point there where the old bus is if it is still there and see how far in mud you sink into, a guy i know tried to net the moss off of it (POINT) when Roy had it and he didnt even get 20ft off the bank and was up to his waist in mad and silt. well enough about this, anyway im not saying it isnt a good lake to fish at all, it is, but when it gets to the dog days it will get real warm (water). i hope they did put in another bubbler to keep the water moveing.. I might have to get out there this summer and fish it being they are getting fish put in it.

hey Andy I just wanted to give my 1 cent in the spawning topic. I did a lot of research last year on the spawn and paylakes. As far as being too shallow there a whole bunch of paylakes around here that are only6 to 10 feet deep. Chetac only average probably 7 feet deep. That is probably my favorite lake to fish catch em all year around!

oh i agree shallow lakes are good as deep lakes, i was just kinda telling the other guy alittle about the lake, im not sure how long he has fished at Stonies but it has filled in quite abit in the past few yrs. from the farmer lands above teh lake and it runs down the creek into the lake adn it is filling it in real quick. unless they do something aobut that creek thats running down into it it wont be long before it gets to the point of where it is only 2-4 ft. deep, i like the lake but i do how ever like to atleast be able to have my bobber stop a few ft above my float. I n spots you cant have it no more then a ft. or 2 above the staw. its getting that bad.. but it is a good lake to fish however.

Have not had a chance to fish it yet but have seen the pics of the 49.1 blue caught on Tuesday AM, the 46#?? shovel and the 35# shovel on Tuesday Afternoon. According to the guy that works nights out there, there were also a lot of 20's and teen's caught this week. Talked to Roy on Thursday and he said he ahd about 1000# of "large fish" and 2000# of farm raised coming today.

sounds good who said paylake shovels dont go on the nest the hell they dont. its a part of nature they are gonna hit the nest sooner or later no matter where they,re at. when the water hits mid 70's watch and see.
