to shallow it is really starting to fill in with mud from the creek that run into it. Use to fish it all the time have'nt been there for a couple yrs. know a few people that do though, a friend of mine bust the 40 and over jar there for like $2600. And Roy the owner will tell you that he put in 1000 pounds of fish and only put in like 300 but what lake wont tell you that..

Hey guys Stoney Meadows is under new management with Joe and Cindy. They have already been putting 50lb blues and bigger. This lake is full of shouvels. They are going to have weekly specials like two for tuesday buy one ticket second is two dollars. Wensday is seniors day 2.00 off. we are putting some tourneys together so email me and give me some input. For the shad scott and forever blue has declared jihad on them they will not be a problem. They have two other small lakes good for farm raised channels but the big lake is for big boys.

shovels do not go on the nest in a paylake... The need a hollowed out bank, or tree root , or even a pipe to swim up in to breed.... And if your not looking to catch only blues dont waste your money cause the water is still too cold for the shovels to want to feed more...

do they plan on dredging the lake out, it really needs it bad, its been a couple yrs. that have been out there, but it wasn't even 4ft. deep 5 at the most in a couple spots. Nice big lake but to shallow. they need to see if the can do something with that creek, all the farm land above the lake washes alot of field crap in it. I hope they plan on getting it straitened out, i like going out there but its just way to shallow. Might have to stop out there on day and see how its looking.

i think someone needs to do there homework on fish spawning. Not trying get anything started at all but yeah flatheads, blues, channels, ect. do lay eggs in paylakes, konw gar. that the fish do make it but the do spawn.. Ask any of the paylake owners on the bourd they will tell the same thing.. I think we had this disc. before, didnt we. LOL

The lake must have not needed dredged out too much. The forty and over jar has went twice this weekend with a 58 lb blue and a 44 blue. There was also some great flats caught this week. If you haven't been to Stoney's and you can catch big fish get there. The slots are the best around 15 to 20 20 to 25 and so on. Not like cozy dales 15 to 15.6 what a joke. get out and tell Cindy and Joe That you seen this on cinci paylakes. I think they have turned this lake around. Alot of big blues going into the lake. Goodluck

IN order for any cat (blue, shovel, channel) they have to be in the lake 1 full rotation of seasons Before they spawn. Even then most will not actually lay eggs escpecially blues. They go through the motions of nesting by instinct. Some will actually lay eggs tho not many. I reserched this last year from the ODNR. For the most parts one can not count catfish to reproduce in paylakes.

i here people that think both ways on this, but i would say that 95% of them don't lay eggs. they do go through a "false" spawn, all the motions of nest building but never actually produce the eggs. also, its a nature thing to them not to reproduce. in their new environment, they are crowded compared to how they was in the river, so to ensure their survival, they won't spawn and put a hurting on the food population.
