I fish year round, I just started paylaking this past July, but I am sure I will still hit the lakes up through the winter, when I am not on the river or fishing for Saugeye.

Lakes stay open for how long?

I think it varies from lake to lake, on when they open and close. I usually fish at Cedar in the winter since they stock trout all winter long. They open every day from like 9 in the morning until 6 at night or something during the winter. I am sure all the lakes are different.

Thinking of staying open later this year myself. Have been selling winter passes the past few years to a few regulars, but getting way too many asking. So might do weekends till Thanksgiving. I had 50's, 60's, and a couple 70's caught all the way up to Christmas last 2 years, so I know they'll bite.

Them big blues will bite when the water cools down. Id love to come down to hickory in the cooler months and slam one of them hawgs you got in your lakes. I heard its really nice down there. I would love to beat my 47lb record.

ok this thread got my attention. so the flatheads still bite through the winter? does this mean all winter? in the pay lakes or just the river? do you have to fish on the bottom? whats the best bait..... cut or live?
