abu better know as the winch reels. actually the c3 is better than the c4 the c3 your are gonna get more crank power from the begging but a lil slower retreive. versus a c4 your gonna get the faster retreive and because of this during fighting a big fish them worm gears have been known to slip. why is the abu called a winch. they are a reel basically made to hook a fish and tip in the air and crank it in. now if any of you here have a big cat spinning setup. and have caught fish on both, you can see what im saying a baitcaster, yes you have to fight a fish. but not nearly as hard as you have to do if you are using a spinning combo. spinning combo u really have to wear them out

Heck i was the same way tell i started to bust some jars. But that is a good thing, no need to buy stuff at full price when you could get them a lot cheaper.

i love cheap, and u can always find decent deals at the lakes. but always examine before you buy. never know if mechanical messed up or not. on a baitcaster ill tighten the drag completly up and and appply force to the spool and try to crank it to see if the gears slip.

I have a few to choose from 2 catmax reels on 10 foot eagle claws ( Love em ) ABU 6500 C4 on a 11' night stick Abu 6500 C3 on a 11' night stick Abu 5600CI on a 12' ugly stick Cabelas MRP 200 on a 11' catmax rod Browning Ocean Master on a 11' catmax rod
Took me about 4 years to aquire these rods and reels but well worth the investment. The oldest one I have is the 6500 C4, Never had it cleaned and it works like new. I take extremly good care of my fishing gear. I always have my reels laying on a towel to prevent any dirt form getting in the gears. At the end of the year I lube them up and place them into some nice cloth bags that my wife made for them. I know this sounds a bit strange and my brothers give me a hard time about the way I take care of them, but with my wife as a stay at home mother and 4 kids I cant afford to by reels all the time so I have to take care of them. FISH ON! 4/1

I had some custom split handle rods made, had the thread color match my reels (C4's), had him use Rustoleum silver hammer paint and then a couple clear coats over that. They have been calling my name hear lately, still need to reline and clean-em up a bit for a new season.

BTW,......they are 11fters, I forget what blanks he used but they have/had a life time guarantee. They were made by Steve's custom rods over off of the Kings Mills exit. I think he may have gone out of biz unless he moved........anyway I can't find him now, I hope 1 doesn't break or crack.
