These reels are higher but after you use one you will love it. They are smoother, stronger, and cast great. I have had mine for about 2 years and I have never had to replace anything on it. I use to use Garcia reel but would wear them out after awhile and have to start replacing parts on them. The Garcia is a great reel for the money though. By the way Pure Fishing sold it's company 2 or 3 weeks ago. So we will have to wait to see the new 2008 line up if they make changes. I was told today that there will be a big change in the rod and reel market. Shakespeare, Penn, Pure Fishing, Coleman, and several other companies are owned by another company now. I use 12' XH Ugly stiks with RCN60HC's on them I love the rods and the reels. Abu Garcia didn't lie when they said it was going to be the smoothest and furthest casting reel they ever made and as for the Uglys....They're great for the fight!

I have three rigs I use when when looking to catch those big monster cats: two 10ft. Cat Max rods with Cat Max bait caster reels and one 12ft. Ugly Stick with an Abu 7000 reel. Still working to perfect the casting on all three, but they all seem to be good setups for me.
