Fished awhile Saturday night caught 3 skunked texasteatony LOL He skunked me last Sunday!! The shovels are making their way out of the mud won't be long! this weekend they will be on fire with the temps heading to 80!!

Fished there a couple of hours last night. Caught 2 shovels close to 20, and a small blue. Shad heads.

Yea we are open with limited services, no jackpots and open fishing. We have the indoor restrooms open and fire pits. |

the wind was strong last night,temp dropped a little but the bite was good.
we caught flats, blues, and channels.our big fish of the night was a flathead about 25#
followed by a 22# channel cat-Ictalurus punctatus.
bigreds lake has some of the biggest channels around!i need a bigger net.
i have a cheep wal-mart net that's a joke when you try and land a fish over 20#
others around the lake were into fish as well
the next fire pit around the lake i saw them land 17 fish ten over 20# or so.yesterday we caught allot of crappie @ cowan and used the heads for bait @ bigreds on the bottom from now on i will never toss those heads out for trash that's for sure. last weekend i had a nice fish run me under the pump and break off so i cranked down the drag on the old 6600-c4 and it cost me a nice fish last night. knot failed @ my swivel.
and as usual my wife caught the most and biggest fish!!!
oh well some one must be net boy right!

Are there rain shelters around the lake? We are thinking about going out saturday or sunday but they are calling for scattered storms. I am going insane and cant wait to get out and catch some cats. What are the prices, and hours? bait house open yet?

Fished yesterday with a few people several nice Shovels caught on crappie heads and bluegill.
I was able to land a nice 20 pound shovel, one of these days I am going to buy batteries for my digital camera! Dedra was again the champ of the day with a stellar 25 pound shovel. I am going to try to get her to post the pic from her phone soon.

This was my first time at reds not the biggest but its my first one this year.It was just over 17lb. It hit within 5 min. of being there. I ended up getting 4 fish total before the storms sent me packing. I was there about 4 hours

I tried that but I guess either I did it wrong or it dosen't come up when you preview your post. Either way thanks for the help. Hopefully I will need this feature a lot this year.
