There is good fishin in the Miami , possiable state record catfish is back at the old dam area of the middletown section been seen been caught but no one is able to land him . can you ? paylaking is good fishing , but so is the river. Your talking about my fav spot on the great miami BUT the last three times we went there every car had the windows broken outcant afford to go there anymore with losses like that

Chris , you are right about that location , parking for the dam area of the Great Miami is risky , I did not hear of the window issues but have heard of break ins , mainly cars that were not locked up , we have not heard of other problems along the Miami , and the guys do tell us alot in the shop. Whether your a pay laker or a river man , you all have one thing in common you love catfishin. We can point out the pay lakes too and tell you which ones are filling up for the night and help you locate on that is not full , with maps too if you need one.

if you know middletown , its on rt 73 franklin side of middletown , between the access rds to Tytus which is the street i am located on , it has a chain gate and right now a bulldozer parked there to block off those who cut the chain and drive down. Its a nice hike back in, can get crowded , will see about a map or drawing to post on my site as to a few locations on the Miami, might be next week or so having a block party here.

the spot is excellent. get to corner of busted d**n. throw u a decent size goldfish out there and just break the current with it. and give it about 15 mins, and fish on

FISHED THE RIVER IN FRANKLIN LAST NIGHT JUST PAST THE 122 BRIDGE CAUGHT A NICE SHOVEL ABOUT 20LBS ON BLUEGIL LOST ANOTHER ON YELLOW BELLY..

I fished the old 73 broken d**n spot for a couple of hours yesterday eve. It looked like fri. nite at a crowded pay lake...I didnt have but a couple of hours to fish anyway...did not do any good...but it was nice out...seen 2 real small shovels caught....

river started hitting again thsi weekend had a 25 blue caught , avg of 20 - 30 on shovels water still down , rt 4 bridge is like a pay lake no current had a 25 - 35 shovel take our float and dive was cool to see the lite sthk here and there but still couldnt get it in all the way , as we left we saw the light stick swiming lollllll who ever caught that fish could get a free float lol anyway nice area to fish right now walkable to get on the island too .
